1. Overview

VFRTrack is a digital pilot companion application. We are committed to safeguarding the data collected through our mobile and web applications to ensure secure flight operations.

2. Information We Collect

• Account Profile Data: We collect your name, email, credentials, and optional pilot license logs.
• Aircraft Configurations & Fleet Details: You may input aircraft tail numbers (e.g., N172SP), aircraft specifications, weight and balance indicators, and custom operational checklists.
• Background GPS Location Telemetry: To support automated flight log logging, we collect precise latitude, longitude, altitude, true track, and groundspeed data. This location data can be accessed in the background (even when the screen is locked) if automated log tracking is enabled.
• Local File Storage: Cache and local storage permissions are used to store downloaded airport diagrams, flight procedures, and checklists for offline-first operational capability in the cockpit.

3. How We Use and Share Information

Telemetry, flight records, and tail numbers are stored locally on-device for safety and optionally backed up to our secure cloud database when internet connectivity is available. We do not share, sell, lease, or license background location logs or custom checklists with any third-party marketing services or commercial data brokers.

4. Data Protection & Offline Integrity

We employ cryptographic protocols to safeguard account profiles. Pilots should secure their local devices to prevent unauthorized access to local logbook registries and aircraft profiles.

By downloading, installing, or accessing VFRTrack, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree, do not use this application.

2. Aviation Safety Disclaimer & PIC Authority

WARNING: VFRTrack is an auxiliary software application designed for situational awareness only. It is NOT certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or any national aviation authority as a primary navigation instrument or certified avionics system.

• The Pilot in Command (PIC) is solely and exclusively responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft.
• Pilots must conduct flights in accordance with official charts, aeronautical directories, weather briefs (FSS/1800wxbrief), NOTAMs, and Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs).
• Do not rely on this app as a single source of navigation, altitude, terrain avoidance, or communication data.

3. Checklists and Aircraft POH/AFM Primacy

Checklist templates provided by VFRTrack (including Pre-Flight, Takeoff, and Engine Failure emergency templates) are guides only. The pilot must verify and cross-reference all checklist items against the official FAA-approved Airplane Flight Manual (AFM) or Pilot's Operating Handbook (POH) specific to their aircraft make, model, and tail number prior to flight.

4. AIRAC Cycle Updates and Data Expiration

Aeronautical publications (including airport diagrams, frequencies, and approaches) change every 28 days on the FAA AIRAC cycle schedule. Pilots are responsible for checking cycle dates, downloading the current cycle databases, and confirming that all airport diagrams are valid before conducting flight operations under instrument (IFR) or visual (VFR) rules.

5. Limitation of Liability

Under no circumstances shall the developers, owners, or distributors of VFRTrack be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to aircraft damage, personal injury, loss of life, or regulatory violations arising from the use or malfunction of this application, telemetry calculations, or diagram viewer features. You fly entirely at your own risk.
